MYKO CONNECTED HOME

100,000+ USERS. 250,000+ DEVICES. ONE NEW APP.

I joined Kingfisher’s Connected Home team as Senior Product Designer, working with a cross-functional team across the UK and France to take its next-generation smart home app from zero to one. A service provider change meant replacing the legacy platform for an established user base, with a fixed migration deadline. I led end-to-end design across iOS and Android, from onboarding and device setup to everyday controls and advanced settings for 15+ connected devices across heating, lighting, climate, power and security. I translated complex technical requirements and device behaviours into clear, intuitive experiences. To meet the migration deadline, I deliberately kept the UI simple and focused on core functionality, establishing scalable patterns and foundations for the product to evolve beyond its MVP. Throughout the project, I used AI-assisted workflows to explore ideas, build interactive prototypes and refine designs. I supported delivery by documenting product feature specifications, writing test cases and carrying out QA.

See Myko in action. Adjust the temperature, dim the lights or change their colour, set the alarm, add a new device to a room, then explore the settings behind it all. Every control responds in real time, just as it would at home.
